Emma Gillingham
Principal Climate Change Scientist - UK Health Security Agency

Emma is a Principal Climate Change Scientist at UKHSA.  She works on a range of topics related to the health impacts from climate change including vector-borne and infectious diseases and mental health. She led the publication of the Health Effects of Climate Change in the UK report in 2023, and was a lead author on the vector-borne disease, infectious disease and drought chapters.

In 2024, she co-led the publication of the ‘Climate change and mental health: thematic assessment report’, and is one of the lead authors for the infectious disease risk for the 4th Climate Change Risk Assessment (CCRA). Emma is currently leading a thematic report which will focus on the impacts of overheating in hospitals in England.
