Dr Rupa Chilvers

Dr Rupa Chilvers has worked in health and care for over 20 years delivering innovation and change programmes. As the Deputy Director for Life Sciences and Innovation in Welsh Government, she is working closely with policy makers and people working in health and care designing and supporting national activities as well as working across the UK and through international programmes.
She continues to work closely with clinicians, practitioners and leaders across services in community, primary and secondary care for emerging technologies such as AI, growth of the economy through life sciences and for evidence-informed policies on innovations working at scale. Taking a people perspective in all the programmes she supports, Rupa has also worked as a Technical Advisor with WHO and other UN agencies supporting and leading policy and strategy development for international health systems. She is well-versed in taking actions that are required for the short and medium term as well as using horizon scanning to help shape health and social care outcomes for the future generations.
