Sectra Secures 10-Year NHS Scotland Contract for Imaging Services
NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) has entered a decade-long contract with Sectra, a medical IT imaging company, for its cloud-based enterprise imaging service.
The Sectra One Cloud software-as-a-service will be adopted by all 14 territorial health boards and NHS Golden Jubilee, hosting the Scottish National Radiology Reporting Service. The agreement covers radiology, breast imaging, and orthopaedics modules.
Sectra plans to collaborate with national and local teams to implement the new service, replacing the current supplier contract set to conclude in 2026. The transition involves migrating over 55 million radiology studies to a unified service instance.
The comprehensive contract covers acute radiology, orthopaedic, and breast screening services, presenting future opportunities to extend support to additional diagnostic services.
Sectra highlights the potential integration of AI applications into radiology workflows as part of the evolving technology landscape.
Mary Morgan, Chief Executive of NSS, expressed optimism about the Sectra partnership, emphasising its role in providing efficient and effective diagnoses for NHS Scotland radiology teams. The service aligns with the Scotland Radiology Model, fostering enhanced cross-site collaboration and paving the way for future advancements.
