NICE International Extends Global Footprint in Health Tech Standards

NICE International is intensifying its global health tech influence with a new £2.3 million investment aimed at strengthening evidence-based policy systems across 18 partner countries.

Launched by the UK government, the initiative focuses on boosting health technology assessment (HTA) capacity, empowering health ministries worldwide to evaluate the cost-effectiveness and safety of treatments and medical devices.

Kenya is among the early success stories, having integrated NICE’s HTA framework into national health planning.

In addition to global health gains, the initiative promises economic rewards for UK life sciences companies.

According to government figures, partnerships developed through NICE International could drive £5 billion in export opportunities, positioning the UK as both a knowledge leader and commercial force in global health markets.

The approach includes workshops, digital resources, and peer-to-peer consulting, with emphasis on affordability, transparency, and sustainability.
