NHS Launches Digital Academy to Upskill Staff
The NHS North London Mental Health Partnership is helping to upskill its workforce and progress in digital transformation through the launch of a new digital academy.

Currently, the academy has trained more than 50 staff across every area of its organisation, with another 50 expected to enroll by March 2024 as the partnership looks to maintain momentum in its digital journey.

Staff training will be led by Multiverse

The training focuses on improving the digital capabilities of staff and making the workforce more data-driven, with the end goal of enhancing patient care and outcomes.

Multiverse, a company that has worked with more than 10,000 apprentices in data analytics and software engineering, will be delivering the training.

The North London Mental Health Partnership is a collaboration between Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust, and Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust.

Patient outcomes will be enhanced through the training initiative

Chief Digital Information Officer at the North London Mental Health Partnership, Sarah Wilkins, explained that the collaboration will be crucial in helping to improve and benefit the existing workforce.

Sarah said: “Being part of this initiative means understanding of our data and insights will be embedded through the organisation, enabling us to enhance our services and improve patient and service user outcomes.”

Continuing, she added that the initiative will amplify staff support: “Not only will it drive operational efficiency, but it will also serve as a stepping stone in our commitment to professional development for our staff.”

Focusing on driving up training and development in the digital capabilities of the existing workforce is essential in futureproofing the healthcare sector and ensuring that staff have the confidence, knowledge, and resources needed to deliver the best possible care to patients.
