Decarbonising the NHS: Scotland
The HIL Decarbonising the NHS Scotland 2026 Conference will take place on 7th October at the Radisson Blu, Glasgow.
The first annual conference in 2025 brought together healthcare leaders, sustainability experts, and policy makers to discuss strategies for reducing carbon emissions in Scotland.
This event now in its 2nd year brings together 200+ Heads, Directors and Senior Managers of Sustainability, Facilities, Estates and Climate Change Policy from healthboards, national and special bodies, and primary care to discuss and debate progress being made to create resilient health systems by incorporating climate change into health policies.
Delegates in attendance will include:
| Directors of Climate Change and Environmental Health | Heads of Procurement & Supply Chain |
| Net Zero Travel and Transport Managers | Corporate Governance and Business Managers |
| Heads of Contracts and Commissioning | Heads of Operational & Clinical Waste Management |
| Decarbonisation & Net Zero Managers | Energy & Sustainability Managers |
| Business Change Managers | Heads of Capital, Estates & Facilities |
This event gives attendees the chance to drive transformation in their own healthboards, replicating proven models of care and delivery to accelerate net zero progress across the health system in Scotland.
To strengthen collaboration across the UK’s health systems, this conference will form part of a dedicated series of events in England, Wales, and Scotland to review NHS policy within each nation.
These events will provide a platform for policymakers, practitioners, and stakeholders to examine country-specific priorities, share lessons learned, and highlight innovative approaches.
By bringing together insights from across the three nations, the series aims to foster mutual understanding, encourage cross-border knowledge exchange, and identify opportunities for collective improvement.
