Decarbonising the NHS: Scotland
This annual event now in it’s 2nd year brings together 250+ Heads, Directors and Senior Managers of Sustainability, Facilities, Estates and Climate Change Policy from Scottish Government, Regional & Special NHS Boards, and primary care to discuss the progress has been made in strengthening healthcare resilience to the growing impacts of climate change.
NHS Scotland aims to become a net-zero organisation by 2040 with further ambitions to maximise their contribution to Scotland with the supply chain achieving net-zero emissions by 2045.
To effectively deliver environmental and social sustainability aims, the strategy should work alongside other NHS Scotland and Health Board strategies and initiatives.
NHS Scotland cannot deliver its sustainability aims on its own, working closely with local authorities, third sector organisations and the private sector is essential to achieve them.
Now in its second year, Decarbonising the NHS Scotland allows sector leaders, innovators, and changemakers to assess progress, share case studies, and discuss the ambition behind the NHS Scotland’s net zero journey.
Delegates will understand where they can make a difference in their own organisations and replicate evidence-based, best practice models of care and delivery to wider parts of the health system.
