Buildots’ AI Construction Technology Enhances Efficiency on £105M National Rehabilitation Centre Project

Buildots’ AI-powered construction platform is playing a pivotal role in improving project efficiency and delivering taxpayer value on one of the UK’s most significant NHS construction projects—the £105 million National Rehabilitation Centre (NRC).
Integrated Health Projects (IHP), a joint venture between VINCI Building and Sir Robert McAlpine, has adopted Buildots’ AI construction technology to support the delivery of the NRC. The cutting-edge NHS facility, being developed by Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH), will combine clinical care with world-leading research, training, and education.
Designed to meet the complex demands of modern healthcare infrastructure, the NRC project benefits from Buildots’ digital construction solution, which integrates 360° site imagery with the project’s BIM model and schedule. The system provides real-time visibility into planned versus actual progress and uses predictive analytics to highlight potential delays, allowing site teams to take proactive corrective actions.
“When we approach a project like NRC, we look at how we can save taxpayers’ money without compromising quality,” said Ryan McCormack, Head of Programme Construction and Commercial at NUH. “Buildots gives us a clear, data-driven picture of project progress, helping us make timely and informed decisions to keep construction on track and deliver high-quality care facilities.”
In collaboration with Buildots, IHP is embedding continuous improvement into every phase of delivery. The team leverages real-time data to identify the root causes of bottlenecks, optimise workflows, and adjust resource allocations based on objective performance insights. For even deeper analysis, IHP has integrated biometric turnstile data with Buildots’ platform, comparing workforce numbers against weekly output to fine-tune labour planning and enhance overall project management efficiency.
“Our commitment is to deliver top-quality healthcare infrastructure as efficiently as possible,” said Will Coupland, Project Director at IHP. “Buildots empowers our team to spot issues early, take corrective action quickly, and optimise construction processes at every stage.”
“We’re proud to bring our AI construction expertise to such a meaningful healthcare project,” said Aviv Leibovici, Co-founder and CPO at Buildots. “IHP continues to set the standard for data-led construction in the healthcare sector. This is the future of NHS infrastructure—smart, transparent, and driven by real-time insights.”
The collaboration between Buildots and IHP on the NRC has already gained industry recognition, having been shortlisted for the Digital Innovation in Productivity Award at the Digital Construction Awards 2025. The project builds on Buildots’ proven track record in healthcare construction, including its recent success on the Royal Bournemouth Hospital’s BEACH building.
