A leading UK medical device manufacturer, Pennine Healthcare, have just announced a brand-new PVC-free medical range – which includes suction connecting tubing and other medical devices.
The range features innovative, polyolefin-based Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) products – a decision that aligns with their mission to create sustainable healthcare solutions and reduce the environmental impact.

What is (TPE) and why is it beneficial?
The polyolefin-based TPE compound is a PVC alternative – ideal due to its robust physical properties and low CO2 impact.
It is a safer alternative for patients and staff, as it eliminates the use of dangerous plasticisers, such as phthalates.
According to Pennine Healthcare, the new medical devices are designed with superior kink resistance, durability, flexibility, and clarity, which ensures smooth fluid movement and transparency for monitoring the fluid flow.

The TPE compound is made in Europe with 100% renewable wind energy, produced sustainably, with all waste being recycled.
